Happy New Year Card and Wooden Reindeer

Hi Ladies
This is the first time I have had today to post something, busy busy busy, I just need a few more hours in the day to cram everything in lol, so onto my New Year Card and my Wooden Reindeer I made and finished it Christmas Eve but did not have time to post it.

The image I use for the card is a free one from Lyn at Spiders Corner, thank you Lyn.

I water coloured the image and glittered it, mounting it on  lattice punched paper I did with a M/S punch then added ribbon, before mounting I  added corners with an EK punch.  I added glitter to the flowers and leafs, for the centre of each flower I used spacers and brads from Hobby House, finally adding some bling.

The inside I used the same lattice punch for the mount and EK for the corners.

Below is my reindeer I made to match the Santa I did, the antlers were really fiddly and I got paint everywhere again lol, but I did have fun and I am so proud of him and he looks good next to Santa, he will also be going to the grandchildren with the Santa when I go home again, wow my hand luggage is getting larger as we speak lol.

I have entered my card into the following challenges:

Freshly Brewed – Celebration

Digital Tuesday - Anything Goes

Simon Says – Time to Party / Celebrate

Crafty Ann’s - Anything Goes

Stamptacular Sunday – Snow Much Fun

Thanks for popping by my place I love reading your comments and what you think of my work.

Happy New Year to Everyone

Incy Wincy Challenge

Good Morning all, it’s that time again when Christmas seems a blur wow it goes so fast, I hope everyone got what they wanted, I know I did but then I am spoilt lol now did you lots of crafting goodies in your sack?
We missed the grandchildren this year and seeing their eyes light up when they open presents but on the good side we did not have to put up with the dreaded sprouts  which my grandson loves and even eats them cold geez how yuck and I am sure they smell worse when cold lol.

Anyway enough of my gab and onto the challenge this week from Incy Wincy but first I would like to thank everyone who entered last week’s challenge and I loved looking at your creations.

Donna from  Bearly Mine Designs is our sponsor this week.

This week the theme is distressing and I used Donnas distressing paper and the stamp is from Kaban, coloured with Pro Markers, I a M/S lace punch and the pearls are from Hobby House.

My name is Donna and I started up Bearly Mine Designs in the spring of 2007 because I was unhappy with the paper packs available, so I solved the problem by designing my own papers. Some friends suggested I try selling them, and it just took off. and since then I've been designing papers for all seasons, all types of card making, with 6x6 cards being so popular all the digi sets I design are in that size, perfect for your cards. The reason the digi kits are so popular is because you can mix and match, and print out as many or as few as you like, and you will never run out of your favourite designs.

Prize this weeks  is 2 digi packs of winners choice.

So do come along and join us this week for our challenge and please visit the talented design team ladies as their work is just beautiful.

I have entered onto the following challenge:

Simon Says Stamp – Anything Goes

Charisma Cards - Lace and Pearls

Thanks for popping by my little place I do appreciate your comments.

New Project Finished

Hi everyone, hope your all having a good day and the snow is not too bad for you, I have a little something to show you and that is a first for me. My wooden Santa which shall be given to the grandchildren along with the reindeer I am also making (more of that later)

It took me 8 hours in total to finish this project and I am quite proud of it I have to say. He is under coated 3 times and sanded down, the his beard, tash, hands and hat are traced, then everything is given a coat of its colour and sanded lightly then a final coat. In between the coats it is dried with a hair dryer to speed up time.

After I have finished the coloured bits I started to add all the detail, first the shading round the inside and outside of the beard, tash and face, then the hat and hands. I stencilled the hat with stars and a bit of glitz and gave them a bit shading too so they would stand out, the cuffs, mits and bottom of the hat was stencilled also.

To finish a bit of faux stitching on the bobble, hat and cuffs lastly a coat of varnish, oh nearly forgot the nose and cheeks I added a bit of red paint with a stipple brush and hey presto one finished Santa.

My second offering today is a stamp image from Bugaboo, love this stamp, I made ten cards but with different papers, I thought my girl friends would love this and most can relate to it lol, well all them really hahahaha.

I know Santa it’s not a card (I'm quick like that you know lol) but I do hope they will let me enter this for their challenges, if not please remove my link.
